Active Industry Workforce Development Plan Workshops

The experience and knowledge of our industry leaders is important to the future of developing the Active Industry workforce, and we want to hear from you to shape our workforce.

We need to ensure that our workforce is ready for the future — including the years leading up to the 2032 Olympics/Paralympics. Which is why our team is developing a ten-year Active Industry Workforce Plan 2024-2034. The Plan will provide a snapshot and analysis of the current workforce and skills available, and the future workforce needed for the active industry for the next 10 years.

Having a workforce ready to meet increased participation across the active industry, not just sport, will give us the best chance of translating the excitement of the games into long term benefit to the industry and all Queenslanders. The plan will also include strategies and actions for how best to prepare the workforce for the future beyond the games.

Key questions we are asking:

What are the issues impacting your workforce now and in the future? What are the emerging trends for your sector?

How do you think you will be impacted by the Olympic/Paralympic event – and what does  your workforce need to prepare?

What are your suggested solutions to address these workforce issues?

Your experience and knowledge are important to the future of developing the Active  Industry workforce and you can add your voice to the plan:

  • Firstly, complete the online workforce survey for your organisation at  https://www.aqia.org.au/active-industry-workforce-survey/
  • Secondly, sign up for one of the regional or sector-based workshops below.
  • Thirdly, if you would like to contact us directly with your thoughts and suggestions,  please email us at admin@aqia.org.au and we will be in touch.

Please feel free to invite others you know in the industry to join the workshops and share  their knowledge.
